What does boosting actually do to a server?
Boosts are server-wide, so one boosted server improves for everyone in it at once. They raise voice-channel audio quality, unlock bigger file uploads at higher tiers, add an animated server icon and custom branding, expand your emoji and soundboard slots, and improve Go Live stream quality. Since 2025 you can also spend boosts directly on specific perks without reaching a full level — a Server Tag shown next to members' names across Discord (3 boosts), animated gradient role colours (3 boosts), themed server badge and tag packs (2 boosts), or a Server Theme in beta (3 boosts). Each boost is a monthly subscription, and the price is per boost.
The practical effect is easiest to see in voice and files: a Level 1 server moves voice channels from the default 64 kbps up to 128 kbps, Level 2 lets every member attach files up to 50 MB instead of the free 10 MB, and Level 3 raises that to 100 MB and unlocks 384 kbps audio. Boosts are counted per server, not per member, and any member can contribute — which is why communities pool boosts and why buying them in bulk from one place is the cheapest way to hold a level.
How many boosts for Level 1, 2 and 3 — and what does each unlock?
Your server levels up automatically once it has enough boosts, and each level includes everything below it:

Good to know: bigger file uploads only start at Level 2 — Level 1 doesn't raise the upload limit, so if huge attachments are your goal, aim for Level 2 or 3. Since 2026, boosts you dedicate to a specific perk (Server Tag, Enhanced Role Styles, Game Server Hosting) don't count toward these level totals — only undedicated boosts do. Perks are cumulative, and if the boost count later drops, the extra emoji and banner are kept hidden until the level is restored.
How many boosts for a Server Tag?
Three. A Server Tag — the clan-style badge shown next to members' names across Discord — is a direct unlock at 3 boosts: you don't need to reach any level, the tag unlocks as soon as the server holds 3 active boosts and stays as long as they stay. The same direct-unlock system covers animated gradient role colours (3 boosts), themed badge and tag packs (2 boosts) and the beta Server Theme (3 boosts). Since we sell boosts in even quantities, take 4 — the 3 dedicated to the tag don't count toward your level, but the spare one does.
Why are boosts sold in even quantities?
We sell boosts in even numbers only — 2, 4, 6, 8 and up. Two boosts reach Level 1. For Level 2 (which needs 7) choose 8; Level 3 needs exactly 14. Buying even always meets or exceeds your target tier, and any spare boosts can go toward the direct-unlock perks above.
The even-number rule exists because our supplier applies boosts in pairs from each boosting account (a Nitro account carries two boosts), so quantities come in twos. Rounding up never costs you a level: 8 boosts hold Level 2 with one to spare, and that spare boost is exactly what keeps the level safe if a single booster leaves before the month ends.
How does boosting through SlayKeys work?

Each boost lasts one month; reorder the same quantity before the date to keep the level continuous.
