How does gifting work in Fortnite?
Open the Item Shop, pick an item and choose Gift instead of Buy. Fortnite shows your friends list; you select who gets it, add an optional message and pay with your own V-Bucks. The receiver gets a notification the next time they log in and finds the item under Locker → Gifts, from where it goes straight into their collection.
Only Item Shop items can be gifted. You cannot send V-Bucks themselves, and you cannot gift an item the receiver already owns — Fortnite greys that friend out. Everything you gift belongs to the receiver's Epic account, so it shows up on every platform where they play with that account.
What are Fortnite's gifting rules?
Epic keeps a short list of rules, and every failed gift traces back to one of them:
- 48-hour friendship: you can only gift to someone who has been on your Epic friends list for at least 48 hours. The timer starts when the friend request is accepted, not when it is sent.
- Two-factor authentication: the sender's Epic account must have 2FA switched on, otherwise the Gift option is locked.
- Daily limit: one account can send a limited number of gifts per 24 hours (5), so bigger orders are spread across days or across several senders.
- Receiving allowed: the receiver must allow gifts in their Fortnite account and privacy settings.
- Enough V-Bucks: the sender pays the full item price from their own balance.
Why can't I send or receive a gift?
If the Gift button is grey or your friend is missing from the list, check these in order. You have been friends for less than 48 hours — wait until the timer ends. The receiver already owns the item. The sender has no 2FA on the Epic account. The sender has hit the daily gift limit. The receiver has turned off receiving gifts, or blocks friend requests, so the friendship never started.
When a gift you expect doesn't arrive, log out and back in — the notification appears on login — and look under Locker → Gifts. Gifts that were sent are not lost; they wait there until you open them.
Can you get Fortnite items as gifts for less?

Step by step
- Open @slaykeys_bot and go to the Fortnite Shop in the Mini App.
- Top up your V-Bucks balance (from 500 V-Bucks) with a card, crypto or Telegram Stars.
- Enter your Epic display name exactly as it appears in Fortnite (Settings → Account) — no password.
- In Fortnite, open Friends → Requests and accept the request from our gifter account.
- Wait out Epic's 48-hour friendship timer — the bot messages you when gifts unlock.
- Pick any item from today's Item Shop, pay from your balance and accept the gift in Locker → Gifts.
