What you can spend Stars on
Stars are Telegram’s in-app currency (shown as XTR). You can use them to:
- Pay bots and mini-apps for digital goods and services — e-books, courses, in-game items, bot subscriptions.
- Buy Telegram Gifts and collectibles, and gift Premium.
- Send Star reactions to support creators, and unlock paid posts or paid messages.
Basically, anywhere inside Telegram that charges for something digital, you pay in Stars.
Why topping up outside the app is cheaper
Buying Stars inside the iPhone or Android app includes Apple or Google's ~30% store fee, so it's the most expensive route — roughly $0.02 per Star, about $20 per 1,000. Topping up through Telegram's official Fragment platform skips that fee, which lands closer to $0.013–0.015 per Star (around $15 per 1,000). Same Stars, same account — just without the app-store markup.
How a top-up to your @username works
We top up Stars straight to your account through the official Fragment pipe — all we need is your public @username. No password, no login, no access. You must have a public @username set in Telegram (Settings → Username) for delivery to work, and the Stars usually land within minutes. Anyone asking for your password or a login code isn't doing this officially — don't share those.
Good to know before you buy
A couple of honest notes. Stars you buy are for spending inside Telegram — they can't be withdrawn or cashed out (only Stars that creators earn can be converted). And steer clear of anything promising 'free Stars' or a 'Stars hack' — those are scams and can get an account banned. An official top-up to your own @username, on the other hand, is completely safe. You pay us by card or crypto and the balance is delivered fast.
Step by step
- Set a public @username in Telegram if you don't have one (Settings → Username).
- Open the SlayKeys bot @slaykeys_bot and choose Telegram Stars, then the amount you want.
- Send your @username (not your phone number or password).
- Pay by card or crypto.
- The Stars are topped up to your account officially — usually within minutes.
